The fifth edition of our Composer Festival looks at the rich inner world of Tchaikovsky’s music. Guest conductor Dina Gilbert conducts the bright and bounding Polonaise from Eugene Onegin, presenting the composer’s whimsical side. Internationally-renowned Canadian pianist Jon Kimura Parker tackles Tchaikovsky’s Piano Concerto No. 1, a bold and dramatic work. The deeply personal and expressive journey of Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 5 completes the program, exemplifying the emotional depths of the composer’s work.
